Client Call phrases in English
On a client call you speak for the team: what's done, what's late, and what happens next. Clients want a clear date and a plan, not technical detail. These phrases help you give bad news early, avoid promising what you can't keep, and end with clear next steps. Fill in the “…” with your own ticket, name or date.

Common mistakes
Sentences non-native speakers often say in a client call, and a more natural way to say them.
-
You said I will feedback to you tomorrow.
Better I'll get back to you tomorrow.
Feedback is a noun; get back to someone is the phrase.
-
You said Sorry, our team is very busy.
Better We're at full capacity this sprint, so adding this would move the reports to July.
Say what it costs the client, not how you feel.
-
You said Maybe it can finish on June 1.
Better We can deliver checkout by 1 June, and the rest by 15 June.
A split plan with two dates sounds more reliable than maybe.
-
You said Can you repeat again?
Better Sorry, could you say that again?
Repeat already means again.
-
You said No problem, we can do it.
Better Let me check what that means for the timeline and come back to you today.
Don't promise on the call before you know the cost.
-
You said We are facing some issues.
Better Two API changes last week added about four days of work.
Name the issue and its size; vague issues sound worse than they are.
